Tebogo Makes History, Defeats Lyles in 200m Olympic Final

Letsile Tebogo of Botswana has achieved a remarkable feat by defeating Noah Lyles, the reigning world champion and fastest man on the planet, to win the gold medal in the men's 200-meter race at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Tebogo, a 19-year-old rising star, stormed past Lyles in the final meters, crossing the finish line in a time of 19.93 seconds. Lyles finished second in 19.98 seconds, while Erriyon Knighton of the United States took bronze with a time of 20.01 seconds.
Tebogo's victory marks the first time a Botswanan has won an Olympic gold medal in track and field. It is also the first time since 2008 that an African athlete has won the men's 200m at the Olympics.
