Ten Hag Needs To Drop Rashford Against Liverpool

Ten Hag Needs to Drop Rashford Against Liverpool

Why Ten Hag Should Consider Benching Rashford

1. Poor Form

Rashford has been in poor form lately, scoring just twice in his last 10 appearances.

His touches in the opposition box have been minimal and he has failed to create clear-cut chances for his teammates.

He also lost possession 16 times against Arsenal, the most of any Manchester United player.

2. Tactical Fit

Rashford is a natural winger, but Ten Hag often plays him as a central striker.

This does not suit Rashford's strengths, as he is not a natural goalscorer and lacks the physicality to play as a target man.

Playing him out of position is limiting his effectiveness and hindering Manchester United's attacking play.

3. Team Balance

When Rashford plays as a central striker, it leaves Manchester United short of width in attack.

This makes it easier for opponents to defend against them, as they can focus on nullifying Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen in the center of the pitch.

Playing a more natural winger in Rashford's place would provide more balance and width to the team.

Potential Replacements for Rashford

1. Anthony Martial

Martial is a natural striker who has scored five goals in his last seven appearances.

He is a good finisher and has the physicality to lead the line for Manchester United.

2. Alejandro Garnacho

Garnacho is a young and exciting winger who has impressed in his limited appearances for Manchester United.

He is quick, skillful, and has an eye for goal.

3. Facundo Pellistri

Pellistri is another young winger who has shown promise for Manchester United.

He is a good dribbler and crosser, and he can also score goals.
