Vampire Weekend Announces Fifth Studio Album, "Only God Was Above Us"
Album set to release April 5, 2024
Trio's first album as a trio
After years of speculation and anticipation, Vampire Weekend has officially announced the release of their highly anticipated fifth studio album, "Only God Was Above Us". Set to drop on April 5, 2024, via Columbia Records, the album marks a significant milestone for the band.
Recorded by the trio of frontman Ezra Koenig, multi-instrumentalist Chris Baio, and drummer Chris Tomson, "Only God Was Above Us" is Vampire Weekend's first album as a three-piece since their 2010 debut album, "Vampire Weekend". The album explores themes of history, identity, and the band's own legacy, with Koenig's introspective lyrics and the band's signature blend of indie rock, world music, and pop melodies.
